Job Description
Responsibilities
We are partnering with a fast-growing technology unicorn that is redefining the future of work. With a strong focus on agility, scalability and innovation, the company is using AI and data-driven insights to transform how businesses build and manage talent. As it scales globally and prepares for its next chapter as a public company, it is looking for an HR Director to partner with its Product and Engineering organisation.
Position Overview
As BU HR Director for Product & Engineering, you will be the strategic people partner to the leaders building the products at the heart of the business. This is a senior individual contributor role with real influence, working directly with senior leadership and shaping people strategy at a pivotal moment in the company’s journey.
You will operate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, advising leaders on organisational design, talent and performance while helping the business get IPO-ready. The company is also embedding AI across its own ways of working, and you will have a seat at the table in shaping how that transformation reaches its people, teams and processes.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will act as a trusted advisor to the Product and Engineering leadership team, aligning people strategy with business and product priorities. You will drive workforce planning, talent development and succession strategies that strengthen bench strength and support growth at scale, while providing insight on organisational design, team structures, performance and engagement in a high-growth technical environment.
You will partner with leaders through change, from restructures and new team builds to the evolving demands of a pre-IPO organisation. You will also champion the use of AI, people analytics and modern HR practices to improve decision-making and the employee experience, and help build a high-performance, high-ownership culture that attracts and retains top technical talent globally.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of HR Business Partnering experience, including prior experience supporting Product and Engineering teams. You will have a background in tech, start-up or hyper-growth environments, with the credibility to advise senior stakeholders and challenge them when needed, and a proven record of building talent pipelines, strengthening bench strength and driving business outcomes through people strategy.
You are comfortable with ambiguity and shifting priorities, and hands-on enough to deliver as an individual contributor. You are curious about AI and people analytics and keen to apply them to HR practice. Strong communication skills, commercial acumen and the ability to influence at every level are essential.
What’s on Offer
This is a high-visibility role with a global tech unicorn at a pivotal pre-IPO stage, offering the chance to shape how AI is adopted across the organisation’s people practices. You will partner directly with senior leadership, with real scope to make an impact, and be rewarded with a competitive package that includes equity upside.
If this sounds like you, or you would like a confidential conversation about the role, please get in touch.
