Responsibilities
The IT Project Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing IT system development, implementation, enhancement and maintenance projects to ensure successful delivery within the agreed scope, timeline and budget.
The role involves working closely with business stakeholders, technical teams and outsourced vendors across both Agile and Waterfall project environments.
Key responsibilities include:
Project Planning and Delivery Management
Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones and deliverables to ensure projects are delivered within the agreed scope and timeline.
Manage project resources, budgets and expenditure, ensuring effective utilisation and adherence to approved financial allocations.
Monitor project progress, identify potential delays and delivery risks, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
Coordinate project activities across different stakeholders, technical teams and external vendors.
Apply Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies to support effective project execution.
System Development and Maintenance Management
Manage and oversee new system development and implementation projects, including ServiceNow SaaS development initiatives.
Oversee existing application maintenance and enhancement projects involving .NET and Java-based systems.
Monitor system enhancement requests, incident resolution and maintenance activities to ensure timely delivery.
Coordinate development, testing, deployment and post-implementation activities with technical teams and vendors.
Ensure project deliverables meet the agreed business, functional and technical requirements.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management
Work closely with outsourced vendors to track and monitor project deliverables, milestones, timelines, budgets and expenditure.
Review vendor performance and ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables in accordance with contractual and project requirements.
Coordinate with business stakeholders, technical teams and vendors to resolve project issues and manage dependencies.
Facilitate project meetings, progress reviews and stakeholder discussions, ensuring timely follow-up on outstanding matters.
Monitor vendor compliance with agreed security, risk management and quality assurance requirements.
Project Risk, Quality and Governance Management
Identify, assess and manage project risks, issues and dependencies, and implement appropriate mitigation and contingency plans.
Oversee project quality assurance activities to ensure deliverables meet the required standards.
Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure identified defects and issues are addressed before system deployment.
Monitor security and risk-related findings, ensuring appropriate remediation actions are tracked and completed.
Maintain project documentation, including project plans, status reports, risk registers, issue logs, budget tracking and decision records.
Provide regular project progress updates and escalate significant issues to relevant stakeholders where necessary.
Project Closure and Reporting
Oversee project completion, ensuring all deliverables, testing activities and outstanding issues are properly addressed.
Coordinate project handover and ensure relevant technical and operational documentation is completed.
Prepare project closure reports, including delivery outcomes, budget utilisation, key issues and lessons learnt.
Job Requirements
a. Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, IT, Engineering, or related field.
b. Over 10 years of experience working as Project Manager, developing and maintaining system in Agile and Waterfall approach.
c. Have PMP certification or ever practice project management
d. Have experience in both development and maintenance projects, with user acceptance testing (UAT) and quality assurance processes.
e. Have experience in working with outsourced vendor in tracking and monitoring deliverables, timeline, budget and expenditure, , security and risk management.
f. Proficiency with requirements management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
g. Development System: ServiceNow SaaS Development Project
h. Maintenance Systems that involved enhancements and tickets resolutions: .NET/Java systems
