Job Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer – Assembly is responsible for supporting and improving assembly manufacturing processes to ensure production is efficient, stable, safe and capable of meeting quality, cost and delivery requirements.

The role requires hands-on involvement in process improvement, production troubleshooting, tooling and fixture development, work instruction preparation, cycle time improvement and continuous improvement activities within the assembly area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide daily engineering support to the Assembly Production Line.
  • Develop, review and improve assembly manufacturing processes.
  • Analyse production issues and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support troubleshooting related to:
  • Assembly process
  • Work method
  • Tools and fixtures
  • Equipment
  • Product quality
  • Production efficiency
  • Prepare and maintain:
  • Work Instructions
  • Process Flow
  • Standard Operating Procedures
  • Process Parameters
  • Engineering Documentation
  • Conduct cycle time study and identify opportunities to improve productivity.
  • Support line balancing and manpower optimisation activities.
  • Improve assembly sequence, workstation layout and production flow.
  • Support development and improvement of jigs, fixtures and tooling.
  • Coordinate with Production, QA, NPI, Maintenance and other relevant departments on engineering-related matters.
  • Support new product introduction, engineering builds, trial runs and production readiness activities.
  • Support PFMEA, Control Plan and process risk assessment activities.
  • Investigate recurring production and quality issues using structured problem-solving methods such as:
  • 5 Why
  • Fishbone Diagram
  • 8D
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • Monitor process performance and implement continuous improvement actions.
  • Drive cost reduction, productivity improvement and waste reduction projects.
  • Support automation and process improvement initiatives where applicable.
  • Ensure manufacturing processes comply with Company quality, safety and operational requirements.
  • Support equipment and process qualification activities.
  • Liaise with vendors or suppliers on tooling, equipment and technical matters where required.
  • Perform other engineering duties assigned by Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience in Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering or Production Engineering is mandatory.
  • Must have hands-on experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting assembly processes or production lines is strongly preferred.
  • Good knowledge of manufacturing process improvement and production troubleshooting.

  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Added Advantage

  • Experience in assembly manufacturing, equipment manufacturing, semiconductor equipment or precision manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen or Six Sigma.
  • Experience in NPI / product transfer.
  • Experience with automation or process digitalisation.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as QAD, SAP or equivalent.
  • Experience using engineering tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or equivalent.

Experience Requirement

Pay: RM5,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
