GENERAL MANAGER

UPM Business Management Sdn. Bhd. (UPMBM)

UPM Business Management Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dynamic, experienced and results-driven General Manager to lead the Company’s business operations and drive sustainable growth and profitability.

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in managing the Company’s operations, financial performance, business development and people, with a key focus on UniPutra Golf Club.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and oversee the overall business operations of the Company in achieving strategic objectives and performance targets approved by the Board of Directors.
• Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), financial performance and operational results, and implement appropriate measures to ensure business targets are achieved.
• Oversee the day-to-day operations of UniPutra Golf Club, ensuring efficient, high-quality and consistent service delivery.
• Develop and execute business strategies to drive revenue growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
• Prepare, manage and monitor the annual budget and ensure effective utilisation of financial and operational resources.

• Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers and contractors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and efficient procurement.
• Work closely with the marketing team to develop and implement effective marketing and promotional strategies to attract and retain customers.
• Oversee customer experience and ensure customer feedback, complaints and enquiries are handled professionally.
• Monitor industry trends, customer preferences and competitor activities to support strategic planning and business growth.
• Prepare and present business reports, performance updates and recommendations to the GCEO and Board of Directors.
• Ensure all business activities are conducted in accordance with Company policies, applicable requirements, corporate governance principles and the best interests of the Company.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the GCEO and Board of Directors from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Hospitality Management, Golf Management, Finance, Marketing or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant working experience, with at least 5 years in a managerial or senior management position.
• Proven experience in business operations, strategic planning, financial management and revenue generation.
• Experience in managing a business unit, commercial operation, hospitality, leisure, golf club or related service industry will be an added advantage.
• Strong business acumen with a proven ability to develop and execute strategies that drive revenue growth, profitability and operational efficiency.
• Strong leadership, people management and decision-making skills.
• Good understanding of budgeting, financial performance, KPI management and business reporting.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers, business partners, vendors, suppliers and other stakeholders.
• Mature, proactive, results-oriented and able to work independently with a high level of integrity and accountability.
• Willing to work beyond normal office hours, including weekends and public holidays, when required by business operations and events.
