Job Description

Responsibilities

BLINK Art Gallery is looking for a tech-savvy, creative problem-solver to join us at the cutting edge of Art and Technology. This is not just an IT support role—this is a creative partnership. You will work directly with our artists and curators to build the next generation of digital art experiences.

We are looking for someone who can help us explore Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality (AR), and Projection Mapping to transform how visitors interact with art. If you are studying something technical (Computer Science, Engineering, Interactive Media) but have a creative soul, we want you on our team.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Artificial Intelligence (AI) Integration

  • Train the Machine: Help us train custom AI models using our gallery's artwork to generate new visuals, patterns, and inspirations that meet our specific brand and aesthetic standards.
  • AI Content Creation: Use AI tools (like Midjourney, DALL-E, or Stable Diffusion) to rapidly generate concepts, mood boards, and promotional assets for our exhibitions.
  • Creative Coding: Experiment with AI to create generative art pieces that evolve in real-time based on visitor interaction.

2. Augmented Reality (AR) & Interactive Experiences

  • Build an AR Mini-Game: Design and develop a simple, fun Augmented Reality game that visitors can play inside the gallery, connecting them with our artists' themes and characters.
  • Enhance Exhibitions: Use AR tools (like Spark AR, Lens Studio, or 8th Wall) to create digital layers over physical artworks, allowing visitors to unlock hidden stories or animations with their phones.

3. Projection Mapping & Installation

  • Transform Spaces: Experiment with projection mapping techniques to animate static paintings and sculptures, turning our gallery walls into dynamic, moving canvases.
  • Setup & Testing: Assist in the physical setup of projectors, sensors, and screens for our Art Tech exhibitions to create a seamless and magical visitor experience.

4. Research & Development

  • Trend Spotting: Research the latest emerging technologies in the art world (AI, AR, Interactive Installations) and pitch ideas on how we can use them.
  • User Feedback: Observe how visitors interact with the tech, gather data, and suggest improvements to make the experience more intuitive and impactful.

You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Studying Computer Science, Engineering, Interactive Design, Digital Media, Game Design, Animation, Creative Media, Art and Technology or a related STEM field.
  • Have experience (or strong interest) in AI tools, AR development, or projection mapping, building app, creating games.
  • Are proficient in at least one creative tool or language: Unity, Unreal Engine, TouchDesigner, Processing, Python, or Adobe Creative Cloud (After Effects/Premiere).
  • Problem-solver who loves to tinker, test, and troubleshoot until things work perfectly.
  • Have a genuine passion for art and a desire to explore the intersection of creativity and technology.
  • Communicate well and can explain technical concepts to artists and curators who may not have a tech background.

Why Join Us?

  • Build a Dream Portfolio: You won't just study theory—you'll build actual AR games, projection maps, and AI tools that real people will interact with.
  • Creative Freedom: We want you to experiment. If you have a wild idea, we want to hear it.
  • Completion Perks: Receive a certificate and a reference letter upon successful completion.

This position is open to current students only.

STEM Internship Scheme Applicants:

  • Monthly salary: HKD 11,790 (full-time)
