The Role

We are looking for a Senior Product Designer, UI/UX to lead the end-to-end design of Arki’s digital wealth experience. This is not a purely executional UI/UX role.

You will work directly with the CEO, who currently leads product vision and strategy, to translate business objectives, customer needs and investment concepts into clear, intuitive and commercially effective product experiences.

You will be expected to take ownership of product problems from initial discovery through design, development, launch and post-launch improvement.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working with ambiguity, challenging assumptions, making clear recommendations and coordinating across engineering, investments, compliance, operations, marketing and client-facing teams.

You will have full ownership of the product-design function, and will help lay the foundation for a stronger design capability over time.

What will you do?

Product Discovery and Problem Definition

• Translate broad business and customer objectives into clearly defined product problems.
• Identify customer pain points across onboarding, funding, investing, portfolio monitoring and ongoing engagement.
• Conduct customer interviews, usability testing and stakeholder discussions.
• Use qualitative feedback, product data and commercial priorities to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Challenge incomplete assumptions and recommend the right problem to solve before design work begins.
• Develop clear problem statements, user journeys, hypotheses and success metrics.

End-to-End Product Design

• Own the design process from discovery and concept development through prototyping, testing and implementation.
• Design intuitive mobile and web experiences for complex financial and investment products.
• Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity interface designs.
• Simplify investment concepts without losing important information, accuracy or regulatory context.
• Ensure that product experiences are coherent across Arki’s cash, income and growth solutions.
• Design for different customer needs, levels of financial knowledge and stages of the investment journey.
• Consider edge cases, error states, accessibility and responsive behaviour.

Product Ownership and Delivery

• Take responsibility for the quality of the customer experience through to launch.
• Work closely with engineering to ensure that designs are practical, understood and implemented accurately.
• Prepare clear design specifications, workflows and supporting documentation.
• Resolve design and product questions during development without waiting for repeated direction.
• Review live implementations and identify gaps between the intended and delivered experience.
• Monitor post-launch results and recommend further improvements.
• Ensure that design work contributes to measurable customer and business outcomes.

Design Quality and Standards

• Set the quality bar for design work across Arki's platform, since you are the sole design decision-maker day to day.
• Establish standards for product discovery, user experience, interface design and design review.
• Establish clear, documented rationale for design decisions so they can be understood by non-designers and by any designer hired in future.
• Model ownership, accountability and constructive challenge in how you work with the CEO and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Conduct regular design critiques and maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
• Contribute to interviews and portfolio reviews when future product-design team members are hired in Malaysia.
• Help raise the Malaysia-based design function into a strong product capability rather than a production support team.

Design System and Product Consistency

• Own and develop Arki’s product design system.
• Establish reusable components, interaction patterns and visual standards.
• Improve consistency across mobile, web and internal product interfaces.
• Work with engineering to ensure that the design system is implemented and maintained effectively.
• Reduce duplicated design and development effort through better systems and documentation.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with the CEO to translate product vision into clear priorities and customer journeys.
• Partner with engineering throughout product development and delivery.
• Collaborate with investment and advisory teams to understand the underlying investment proposition.
• Work with compliance to ensure that product experiences, disclosures and communications are appropriate.
• Partner with marketing and growth teams to improve conversion, activation and engagement.
• Engage client service and operations teams to identify recurring customer problems and operational friction.

What make you a good fit?

• 8 years of product-design, UX or digital-product experience.
• Demonstrated experience leading end-to-end product design for complex digital products.
• A strong portfolio showing shipped products.
• Experience working closely with founders, senior product leaders or executive stakeholders.
• Experience owning ambiguous product problems and turning them into delivered solutions.
• Strong understanding of mobile-first product design.
• Experience collaborating closely with software engineers through implementation.
• Strong written and spoken English.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in fintech, digital banking, wealth management, brokerage, insurance or payments.
• Experience designing regulated financial products.
• Familiarity with investment journeys, portfolio reporting, risk profiling or financial planning.
• Experience working in a high-growth startup or scale-up environment.
• Experience building or managing a design system.
• Experience using customer and product data to guide design decisions.
• Experience building a design team or design capability from an early stage.
