Electrical Design Lead

• Lead the design and development of complex electrical systems including wiring diagrams, component selection, and control systems for safe and reliable automation machinery, ensuring alignment with project timelines, customer specifications, and cost-efficiency standards.
• Develop and implement scalable methods and standardized procedures for electrical design and system integration.
• Take full ownership of the Bill of Materials (BOM), performing periodic reviews to ensure data accuracy, precision, and procurement readiness.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers by providing technical support, fostering knowledge sharing, and creating professional development opportunities.
• Facilitate design reviews, providing critical feedback and technical insights to optimize electrical system performance.
• Research and integrate new components, advanced sensors, and innovative integration methods to stay ahead of industry trends.
• Evaluate system feasibility and propose architectural improvements to enhance overall machine functionality.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives across control system design and the broader product development lifecycle.

Team Collaboration

• Work in a team environment by maintaining proper communication and cooperation among cross-functional teams (Mechanical, Software, Manufacturing) in organization to ensure every project is done according to objective and schedule.
• Periodic review and discussion with cross functional teams or SMEs to ensure project objective are timely met.
• Coordinate and negotiate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate components solution.

Prototyping, Testing and Validation

• Testing and validating prototype designed to ensure they meet required performance benchmarks and adhere to standards.
• Perform detailed electrical design analysis and simulation to ensure optimal performance, reliability and manufacturability.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and regulatory requirements by applying international standards (SEMI, ISO, IEC, UL, CSA, etc.) to design, documenting and managing the certification process to qualify designs and implementations with certification bodies

Review, Maintenance and Documentation

• Reviewing and maintaining electrical design, implementing enhancements, improvements and design iteration to meet specific needs.
• Prepare technical documentation (Work Instruction, Checklist, User Manual, Datasheet) and reports to support the product development and manufacturing process.
• Owned informative and updated written documentation related to the product is delivered to internal or external customers.

Technical Support and Training

• Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting for electrical, hardware, and functional automation system issues from both internal and external customers.
• Providing training, guidance, and clear communication of electrical design concepts and functionality to internal and external stakeholders as needed.

Continuous Learning and Personal Development

• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in electrical and control systems design and contribute to technical innovation.
• Assisting in the installation and commissioning of projects at customer sites to gain exposure to application and product knowledge.

Requirements:

• Minimum 7 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in industrial automation, machinery manufacturing, or related industries, with strong knowledge of electrical circuit design and control systems, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and at least 3 years of experience leading and mentoring junior engineers.
• Proficiency in automation design and relevant CAD software.
• In-depth knowledge of power distribution, panel design, analog and digital signal handling, motion control and communication protocols such as Modbus, Serial, Ethernet, EtherCAT, etc.
• Proficiency in hardware testing methodologies including but not limited to validation, debugging and characterization.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex engineering problems.
• Familiarity with safety standards and best practices in electrical engineering.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Electrical & Electronics/Mechatronics Engineering or related fields.

Pay: RM9,500.00 - RM13,500.00 per month
