We are looking for an AI Engineer to conduct safety testing of Large Language Models (LLMs), develop AI safety guardrails, and support the deployment of safe, trustworthy, and responsible AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct safety testing of LLMs, including identifying vulnerabilities such as jailbreaking and prompt injection.
• Develop and implement safety guardrails using open-source tools and frameworks.
• Build, deploy, and optimise LLM-based applications, including model fine-tuning for safety alignment where required.
• Develop backend services and APIs using Python, with a focus on performance optimisation.
• Collaborate with AI product teams and technical partners to integrate safety testing and guardrails into AI applications.
• Promote responsible AI practices through experimentation, knowledge sharing, and technical collaboration.

Requirements

• Strong Python backend development skills, particularly in API development and ML performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud deployment, preferably AWS.
• Good understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and LLM-based application development.
• Strong interest in AI safety and responsible AI, with a proactive approach to learning and experimentation.
• Experience in LLM safety testing, developing guardrails (e.g., NeMo or LLM Guard), or deploying performant LLM applications is highly preferred.
