At Jacobs, we're challenging today to reinvent tomorrow by solving the world's most critical problems for thriving cities, resilient environments, mission-critical outcomes, operational advancement, scientific discovery and cutting-edge manufacturing, turning abstract ideas into realities that transform the world for good.

Your impact

Electricity keeps cities running, industries moving, and communities connected. Behind every reliable power network is a team of engineers designing the infrastructure that makes it possible.

We're looking for a Cable Engineer who is eager to contribute to some of ASEAN's most significant Electricity Transmission projects. Working across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines, you'll be exposed to complex transmission cable systems and collaborate with experienced engineering professionals on projects that directly support the region's growing energy needs.

This is more than a design role. It is an opportunity to build technical expertise, gain regional project exposure, and develop a strong foundation for a long-term career within the transmission and distribution industry.

In This Role, You Will

  • Contribute to the design and delivery of high-voltage electricity transmission cable projects.
  • Support engineering calculations, technical analyses, and design documentation.
  • Assist in developing drawings, reports, and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams across ASEAN.
  • Learn from experienced engineers while developing practical project delivery capabilities.
  • Gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, from concept design through to implementation
If you're looking for more than just a job and want exposure to meaningful infrastructure projects across ASEAN, this is where your journey begins.

Accelerate Your Professional Growth- Learning & Development

This role is designed for engineers who are eager to build a long-term career in the transmission and distribution sector. Beyond project delivery, you'll be supported through a structured development journey that combines technical learning, mentorship, and hands-on project exposure across ASEAN.

You will have the opportunity to:

  • Build specialist expertise in electricity transmission infrastructure, with a particular focus on cable systems and underground transmission networks.
  • Learn directly from experienced industry professionals through project collaboration, mentoring, and technical coaching.
  • Gain exposure to regional best practices, standards, and engineering methodologies across Singapore, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
  • Participate in technical workshops, industry seminars, and professional development programs to broaden your engineering knowledge.
  • Take ownership of your career growth through continuous learning, professional certifications, and emerging technology applications.
  • Contribute to challenging projects that provide practical experience beyond the classroom and accelerate professional maturity.
  • Regularly review your development goals with leaders and mentors, identifying opportunities to expand your technical and project delivery capabilities.

What Will Help You Thrive

We're keen to meet engineers who are curious, eager to learn, and passionate about power transmission infrastructure. While not every requirement is essential, exposure to the following areas will help you make an immediate impact:

  • An understanding of Extra High Voltage (EHV) cable systems, transmission networks, power systems, substations (GIS and AIS), and large-scale power interconnector projects.
  • Experience using CYMCAP for cable rating and thermal analysis.
  • Familiarity with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and OpenRoads.
  • An appreciation of the civil and structural considerations associated with underground and overhead cable infrastructure projects.
  • The ability to interpret technical information and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • A genuine interest in expanding your knowledge of transmission engineering and developing specialist expertise in cable systems.
Here's what you'll need

Your Growth Journey

Whether you're building upon existing transmission experience or looking to develop deeper technical expertise, you'll be supported by experienced engineers and exposed to projects that will accelerate your professional development across the ASEAN region.

Through hands-on project involvement, technical mentoring, and regional collaboration, you'll have the opportunity to develop into a well-rounded transmission engineer capable of contributing to some of Southeast Asia's most significant power infrastructure projects.

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A genuine passion for electricity transmission infrastructure and the future of energy networks.
  • Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn from experienced transmission specialists.
  • Exposure to power system studies, transmission design, cable systems, or substations will be viewed favourably.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to analyse engineering challenges and develop practical solutions.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills within multidisciplinary project environments.

Join us in delivering the networks that connect communities, power industries, and support ASEAN's energy future.
