The HKU SPACE Community College, founded in 2000, offers associate degree, higher diploma and diploma in foundation studies programmes. Total full-time student population of the College is around 15,000. College Lecturer (Social Sciences) in the Community College

Duties: Tenable from January 2027, the appointees will deliver quality teaching to students in general education or specialised courses for one of the following areas:

• 
  Sociology

• Social Work and Social Administration

• Culture and Media

The appointees will be required to perform a range of academic duties in respect of teaching, course/programme coordination, student recruitment, course/programme development, enhancement of pedagogies, and academic quality assurance.

Requirements: Candidates should have a postgraduate degree (preferably a doctoral degree) in a relevant discipline, and at least 2 years of full-time teaching experience, or equivalent, at post-secondary level or above. Prior experience in course development or administration is preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who possess demonstrated experience in course leadership, curriculum design and development of test papers and course/teaching materials. Experience and skills in the use of AI tools and applications will be an advantage.

Candidates with less teaching experience will be considered for the grade of College Assistant Lecturer.

Terms of Appointment: Salary placement will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The contract will normally be for 2 years with the possibility of renewal subject to review. A contract-end gratuity (taxable) will be payable upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
