Job Summary

Acer Academy is seeking passionate, dedicated and knowledgeable tutors to join our teaching team. The successful candidates should be able to teach Mathematics and/or Science to Primary, Secondary and Junior College (JC) students.

We welcome tutors who are familiar with Singapore's MOE syllabus as well as international curricula, and who can deliver engaging, effective lessons tailored to students' different learning abilities and academic needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching and Lesson Delivery

- Teach Mathematics and/or Science to Primary, Secondary and JC students.

- Deliver lessons according to the relevant local or international syllabus.

- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets and practice questions.

- Explain concepts clearly and use effective teaching methods to engage students.

- Provide guidance on homework, assignments and examination preparation.

- Adapt teaching approaches to suit students' different learning abilities and academic levels.

2. Student Learning and Progress

- Assess students' understanding and identify areas requiring improvement.

- Monitor and track students' academic progress.

- Provide constructive feedback and additional support where necessary.

- Help students strengthen their subject knowledge, problem-solving skills and examination techniques.

- Encourage students to develop confidence, independent learning habits and a positive attitude towards learning.

3. Parent and Centre Communication

- Provide updates on students' learning progress when required.

- Communicate students' learning needs and challenges to the Centre Manager.

- Work closely with the centre's administrative team to coordinate lesson schedules and arrangements.

- Maintain a professional and positive relationship with parents and students.

Requirements and Qualifications

- Degree, diploma or relevant qualifications in Mathematics, Science, Education or related disciplines.

- Previous tutoring or teaching experience is preferred.

- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics and/or Science.

- Familiarity with Singapore MOE syllabus and/or international curricula such as Cambridge IGCSE, IB, A-Level or other equivalent programmes.

- Able to teach Primary, Secondary and/or JC students.

- Good communication and classroom management skills.

- Patient, responsible, approachable and passionate about teaching.

- Able to motivate students and explain difficult concepts in a simple and effective manner.

- Committed to students' academic development and learning progress.

- Able to work independently and as part of a teaching team.

Working Arrangements

- Full-time or part-time positions available.

- Weekday, evening and weekend classes, depending on student enrolment and timetable.

- Teaching hours to be arranged based on availability and centre requirements.

- Remuneration commensurate with qualifications, teaching experience and subject expertise.
