Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager with solid offshore pipeline and subsea project background to manage the full contract lifecycle for our Malaysia offshore oil and gas projects.

The role covers tendering evaluation, contract negotiation, subcontract administration, variation order management, claim & EOT control, dispute mitigation, and final account close-out. The candidate will work closely with project management, engineering, site execution, supply chain, and client representatives (Vantris, PETRONAS or international oil companies) to ensure all projects are delivered in compliance with contractual, commercial and local regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end contract administration for offshore EPC, offshore construction, pipeline installation, subsea trenching and marine service contracts, including main contracts and subcontracts.
• Review, draft, negotiate and finalize commercial terms, technical appendices, scope of work, liquidated damages, performance security, insurance requirements and milestone payment terms for offshore projects.
• Lead variation order (VO) identification, impact assessment, cost & schedule quantification, negotiation and formal endorsement throughout project execution.
• Manage EOT (Extension of Time) applications, delay analysis, contractual notice issuance, and client/subcontractor claim management; defend company contractual interests and maximize project margin recovery
• Monitor subcontractor performance, contractual obligations, delivery milestones, and compliance with offshore HSE & operational requirements; issue contractual notices for non-performance and rectification.
• Maintain contract registers, variation logs, claim registers, and contractual correspondence records to ensure full traceability for client audit and internal governance.
• Support tender & bidding activities, including commercial risk assessment, contract term review, bid clarification and tender submission for offshore pipeline and subsea work packages.
• Mitigate commercial and contractual risks related to offshore weather window limitation, marine vessel mobilization, cross-border operation, scope creep and project delay events.
• Lead project final account settlement, defect liability period management, contract close-out and handover documentation.
• Ensure full compliance with Malaysia local regulations, PETRONAS project requirements and international offshore engineering standards.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Civil/Offshore Engineering, Business Administration or related disciplines.
• Minimum 8–10 years working experience in oil & gas offshore contracting, with proven track record in offshore pipeline installation and subsea construction projects.
• Familiar with Malaysia offshore project workflow, PETRONAS tendering & contract administration procedures, local subcontractor management and marine vessel contracting practices.
• Solid knowledge of FIDIC, offshore construction contract conditions, EOT & delay claim mechanism, variation pricing and final account settlement.
• Strong capability in contractual risk analysis, commercial negotiation, dispute avoidance and on-site contractual problem solving.
• Fluent in written and spoken English; capable of drafting formal contractual correspondence, VO, claim submission and client report.
• Able to coordinate cross-functionally with project control, engineering, site operation, procurement and senior management.
• CIPS / CCCM / legal professional qualification is preferred.

Pay: RM7,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
