Project Manager – Taiwan Client Platform

Synapsys is looking for a Project Manager based in Malaysia to manage a web platform for a Taiwan-based client in the sports and leisure sector. The platform is in its warranty phase and transitioning into long-term maintenance. Relocation to Taiwan is not required.

You will own project takeover, change-request estimation, delivery oversight, maintenance and client coordination, working with our Taiwan-based partner, the end client and development team.

Key responsibilities

• Lead knowledge transfer, access setup, documentation and backlog review.

• Conduct an entry audit and create a regression checklist.

• Distinguish bugs from change requests against the signed specification.

• Gather requirements and write functional specifications, process flows and acceptance criteria.

• Produce scope, effort estimates and proposals, then convert approved requests into statements of work.

• Coordinate development, track delivery and oversee UAT and release readiness.

• Manage maintenance and integrations, including LINE, payments and email.

• Prioritise support issues, track support hours and flag overruns early.

• Maintain documentation and provide weekly/monthly reporting.

• Manage stakeholders, expectations, risks and escalations.

• Use AI tools and improve templates, checklists and automations.

Requirements

• 3–5 years as a Project Manager or Business Analyst in IT projects.

• Proven experience delivering projects for Taiwan-based clients.

• Professional Mandarin proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing is mandatory for client communication and project documentation.

• Relevant degree in IT, Computer Science, Information Management or a related field.

• Understanding of web architecture, REST APIs, OAuth login, payment gateways and messaging APIs.

• Ability to understand data models and basic SQL.

• Familiarity with WeChat, Jira, Confluence and Agile/Kanban.

• Practical use of ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot or similar AI tools.

• Strong communication, prioritisation, ownership and stakeholder management.
