Role Overview

We are seeking a Junior Trader to support physical petrochemical trading and business development. The successful candidate will identify opportunities, develop supplier and customer relationships, and work closely with senior traders and operations teams to execute transactions.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify potential suppliers, customers and trading opportunities.

• Monitor petrochemical prices, supply and demand, and regional trade flows.

• Prepare pricing comparisons, margin calculations and commercial proposals.

• Support negotiations on pricing, quantities, specifications and delivery terms.

• Execute transactions within approved trading authorities and risk limits.

• Coordinate with operations teams on cargo movements, documentation and delivery schedules.

• Monitor contractual commitments, payment status and counterparty exposure.

• Maintain accurate trading records and provide market updates.

Requirements

• Degree in Business, Economics, Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.

• 2 to 3 years of experience in petrochemical trading, commercial sales or trading support.

• Understanding of physical commodity trading, pricing and shipping terms.

• Strong numerical, analytical and negotiation skills.

• Able to build relationships and identify commercial opportunities.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and comfortable working with market data.

• Willing to travel for business when required.
