Job Description

Responsibilities

This is a full-time, on-site Business Analyst role based in Petaling Jaya. The Analyst will be responsible to collect, analyze, and interpret business and operational data to support decision-making across departments. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders to understand requirements, translating them into analytical solutions, and providing actionable insights and recommendations. The analyst will also help improve data quality, optimize reporting processes, and support strategic planning and performance monitoring.


Category & Account Analytics

  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze account-specific KPIs, including Sell-out, Gross Margin, and Stock-on-Hand.
  • Gap Analysis: Identify variances between actual performance and targets; provide root-cause analysis for underperforming SKUs or regions.
  • Market Share Analysis: Utilize Nielsen/IQVIA and retailer portal data to track Uni-charm’s share of shelf vs. competitors.


Strategic Planning Support

  • Joint Business Planning (JBP): Prepare the analytical decks used in top-to-top meetings with major retail partners.
  • Assortment Optimization: Use data to recommend the ideal "Must-Have List" (MHL) and identify distribution gaps in specific store clusters.
  • Planogram Analysis: Analyze the impact of shelf placement and secondary displays on shopper behavior.
  • Leverage Retailer POS data in conjunction with In-store Share of Shelf (SOS) metrics to identify commercial 'white spaces.' You will define the delta between physical presence and sales velocity to uncover untapped opportunities and build data-driven roadmaps to achieve annual sales targets. 


Promotional & ROI Evaluation

  • Pre-Promotion Modeling: Forecast the expected lift and incremental sales of planned trade activities.
  • Post-Promotion Review: Quantify the effectiveness of promotions (ROI) and implementing KPI of "PDC" strategies for future cycles.


Forecasting & Inventory Insight

  • Demand Sensing: Provide account-specific sell-out forecasts to the Supply Chain team to prevent Out-of-Stocks (OOS).
  • Markdown Management: Identify slow-moving stock and propose data-backed clearance strategies.


Education

Field of Study: A degree in Statistics, Data Science, Finance, or Business Analytics.


Knowledge & Experience

Industry Experience: 3+ years of experience or more in Business Analysis, Category Management, or Revenue Management within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector.

Proven Track Record: Explicitly requires proven experience working as a data analyst or holding a similar analytical role.

Technical & Platform Skills: Mastery of Advanced Excel (specifically for modeling), Power BI or Tableau, and familiarity with Retailer Portals like Lotus CBS.

Analytical Techniques: The ability to execute trend analysis, correlation studies, and predictive sell-in/sell-out modeling.

System Competency: Capability to successfully manage reporting tools systems as well as market research systems.


Others

Language Skills: An excellent command of the English language.

Interpersonal Capabilities: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and deal with individuals across different professional levels and departments within the organization.

Quality Focus: Strong attention to detail, maintaining a sharp focus on overall data accuracy and data integrity.

AI Tool Familiarity (Bonus): Prior familiarity or experience utilizing modern AI tools like Gemini and Notebook is highly valued and acts as an added advantage.
