Key Responsibilities

• Assist chefs in daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare, cook, and present dishes according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure the quality, consistency, and presentation of food meet hotel standards.
• Monitor food stock levels and inform the supervisor of shortages.
• Ensure proper food storage, labelling, and stock rotation using FIFO principles.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen, workstations, and equipment.
• Guide and assist junior kitchen staff when required.
• Follow food safety procedures and hotel policies.
• Minimise food wastage and ensure efficient use of ingredients.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Requirements

• Minimum SPM or equivalent; a culinary certificate is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a hotel or restaurant kitchen is preferred.
• Good knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen hygiene.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays.
