Job Description
Responsibilities
A Research Scientist (PhD) at the SMU Urban Institute, Singapore, to work at the intersection of agentic AI and urban mobility. You’ll build a knowledge graph of how people move, use it to ground LLM agents that model travel demand under shocks and disruptions, and train AI-based transportation models that cities can actually use, with room to co-author papers and grant proposals. Looking for a PhD in Transportation, GIS, computer science, informatics, urban analytics or a related field, strong Python and machine learning, and hands-on experience with large-scale transport or spatio-temporal data. Experience building LLM applications (agents, RAG, or fine-tuning) is a strong plus. One-year contract, hybrid, based in Singapore. Closing 14 Nov 2026. Apply here: *************
