Responsibilities
Our client is a Maritime Industry. Due to business needs, they are now recruiting a Vessel Manager to be part of their Lab Team for ongoing transformation projects. They are located in the West - easily accessible
Key Responsibilities for Vessel Manager:
Oversee the technical management and overall performance of 3–5 assigned bulk carriers, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-efficient operations.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and technical projects.
Ensure compliance with international maritime regulations, safety standards, and company policies, including ISM and ISO requirements.
Provide technical guidance and support to shipboard teams, working closely with vessel crews to resolve operational and technical issues.
Manage vessel operating budgets, technical procurement, and expenditure approvals while optimising cost efficiency.
Monitor vessel performance, identify potential risks, and implement preventive measures to minimise incidents and operational disruptions.
Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive actions to enhance fleet safety and performance.
Build and maintain strong working relationships with shipowners, classification societies, vessel crews, and internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
Sailing experience
on bulk carriers
or shore-based experience as a
Vessel Manager managing bulk carriers of various sizes
.
Strong technical knowledge of vessel maintenance, repairs, dry-docking, and fleet operations.
Good understanding of international maritime regulations, safety management systems, and compliance requirements, including ISM and ISO standards.
Proven ability to manage vessel budgets, technical procurement, and operational costs.
