Job Description

Responsibilities

Company Description Haulio, founded in 2017 in Singapore, has grown from a two-person team into the country’s largest and Southeast Asia’s fastest-growing digital haulier. The company operates a smart digital container trucking platform that enables seamless and efficient movement of containers on land. Haulio’s solutions empower an alliance of over 800 trucking and haulage companies and a digital fleet of 10,000 first-mile trucks across the region. Together, they help move 1.8 million TEUs of cargo annually, supporting the everyday needs of businesses and communities and driving digital transformation in logistics.

About the role

The engineering problem here is coordination: jobs that stay open for days, parties who each work in different

systems, and partner data that rarely arrives the way it should. Our stack is C# and ASP.NET on Azure with an

Angular frontend, and you’ll lead on system design and Azure architecture — plus AI in the product, like document extraction and dispatch assistance, and internal tooling that replaces coordination work our team still does by hand. AI assistance means we produce more code, faster, and that has made judgment the scarce skill — knowing, when

you look at a system or a pull request, what will actually hold up. Our engineering team is small, so that judgmentcarries: the architecture decisions you make will ship, and the standards you set will stick.

What you’ll do

• Own feature design end to end: data model, API surface, failure modes, rollout

• Make architectural decisions about service boundaries, data flow, and our Azure footprint

• Build and harden integrations with partner systems, carrier and terminal data, and customer TMS deployments

• Ship AI-powered features, and the evaluation and guardrails that make them dependable

• Review code as a primary responsibility, including output from AI coding agents

• Mentor mid-level engineers and set the team’s standards for AI-assisted development

What we’re looking for

• System design. You can make and defend architectural decisions: service boundaries, data modelling, async processing, failure handling, and behaviour under load. Our problems involve long-running workflows, multi-party coordination, and multi-tenancy.

• Azure. You’ve run production systems on Azure, not just deployed to them — App Services, Functions, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, messaging, Application Insights, CI/CD. AZ-204 or similar is welcome but not required.

• Backend. 6+ years in C# and ASP.NET (MVC and/or .NET Core), deep enough to debug someone else’s code under pressure. Strong EF Core, LINQ, and SQL, including knowing when a query will behave badly at scale.

• Integrations. Comfort with APIs, webhooks, and message-based integrations — and with partner data that arrives late, malformed, or not at all.

• Angular, working competence. You don’t need to be our Angular expert, but you should build and review

frontend features confidently, and be current with standalone components and signals.

• Code review as a craft. Your feedback improves the code and the person who wrote it, and you know a

blocking concern from a preference.

• AI-assisted development. You’re fluent with tools like Claude and Cursor, or clearly ready to be — able to

delegate work to coding agents, give them real context, and review what comes back critically rather than

accepting it. If your current employer blocks these tools, say so; it won’t count against you.

Shipping LLM-backed features — retrieval, structured extraction, agent orchestration, evaluation — is a plus, not a requirement. So is logistics experience; we’ll teach you the domain. Improving how the team works with AI tools counts as real engineering work here, not a side project.
