Job Description
Responsibilities
It’s a 1 year contract role renewable depending on project duration.
- Perform quarterly server capacity analysis, health checks, reporting, and remediation planning.
- Provide daily and 24x7 support for Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, VMware ESXi, vCenter, SRM, and vROps/Aria.
- Monitor server health, performance, capacity, and related OS services; perform housekeeping and troubleshooting.
- Provide L2 support for security hardening, patching, firmware/kernel upgrades, and system driver updates.
- Manage VMware infrastructure, including resource monitoring, SRM replication, VM failover/failback, and disaster recovery activities.
- Perform server provisioning, VM template creation, P2V migration, OS installation, and integration with monitoring/security tools.
- Perform backup and OS/system recovery, including quarterly restoration and DR testing.
- Support VMware upgrades and Windows/Red Hat patching, hardening, and OS upgrades.
- Analyse system logs, troubleshoot complex OS/server issues, and perform performance tuning.
- Support Red Hat technologies including Clustering, Satellite, DNS, SELinux, and Resilient Storage.
- Support Windows technologies including IIS, Microsoft Cluster, Active Directory, and DNS.
- Support VMware vCenter, SRM, and vROps/Aria.
- Work with vendors, product principals, and professional services teams to resolve infrastructure issues and improve system performance.
- Support automation initiatives through scripting and process improvements.
- Perform bare-metal server image backups before maintenance, patching, and upgrades, including managing backup storage and retention.
Key requirements:
- Hands-on experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi & vCenter
- Strong Windows Server and/or Linux/RHEL experience
- Server monitoring, troubleshooting, patching & maintenance
- VM provisioning, migration & P2V experience
- Experience with server health checks, backup/recovery and RCA
- VMware VCP / VCP-DCV certification preferred
- Willing to work onsite and participate in standby support
- 3–5 years’ experience with VMware & server operation
- Must have Enterprise / Data Centre Environment working experience.
