Monroe Consulting Group, an Executive Recruitment Firm, is partnering with a leading organisation in the Healthcare industry to recruit a Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO). This opportunity is based in Malaysia and offers a strategic leadership role within a growing regional organisation with operations across multiple markets.
Position Overview
Lead and drive the Group’s financial strategy, governance, risk management, treasury, and investor relations activities across a regional business portfolio.
Partner with the Board and senior leadership team to enhance financial performance, support sustainable growth, and deliver long-term organisational value.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the Group's financial strategy to support growth, expansion, and profitability.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to the Board and Senior Leadership team, including business planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Oversee consolidated financial reporting, statutory compliance, financial controls, and finance transformation initiatives, including ERP, BI tools, and automation.
- Ensure effective risk management, governance, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement across multiple markets.
- Lead treasury, capital management, fundraising, investment, and M&A activities in support of regional growth objectives.
- Manage relationships with investors, financial institutions, auditors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
- Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing finance teams while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Undertake special projects and additional responsibilities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
- Professional qualification in Finance or Accounting (e.g., ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CFA, MIA, or equivalent).
- Minimum 15 years of finance leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive finance role such as Group CFO, Finance Director, or Regional CFO.
- Proven track record in financial strategy development, fundraising, mergers and acquisitions, and regional business expansion.
- Experience operating within multi-entity and cross-border business environments; ASEAN exposure is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of the healthcare, life sciences, or service industry would be advantageous.
- Experience leading finance teams across multiple locations and jurisdictions.
- Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management.
- Comprehensive understanding of corporate governance, compliance, risk management, and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience overseeing consolidated financial reporting, statutory reporting, and treasury management functions.
- Demonstrated experience leading finance digital transformation initiatives, including ERP migrations, BI dashboards, reporting automation, and process digitisation.
- Strong knowledge of capital structure management, cash flow optimisation, fundraising, and investor relations.
- Proven experience in mergers and acquisitions, including financial due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, negotiations, and post-merger integration.
- Sound understanding of international accounting standards and financial controls.
- Experience managing relationships with financial institutions, auditors, regulators, and investors.
