The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to the Chairman, providing independent analysis, evaluating risks and opportunities, supporting strategic initiatives, and conducting reviews of key business, financial and governance matters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise the Chairman on strategic, financial, legal and governance matters.
  • Review financial statements, business performance, investments and major transactions.
  • Conduct independent reviews of business operations, internal controls, governance frameworks and corporate processes.
  • Support Board, shareholder and listed-company matters, including governance and regulatory compliance.
  • Review and negotiate significant commercial agreements and transaction documents.
  • Assist with acquisitions, divestments, restructuring exercises and strategic projects.
  • Conduct special reviews, investigations and fact-finding assignments.
  • Prepare Board papers, briefing memoranda, business cases and decision papers.
  • Coordinate with management, professional advisers and external stakeholders on matters of strategic importance.

Requirements

  • Degree in Law, Accountancy, Finance or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or admission to legal practice will be advantageous.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in corporate finance, accounting, legal, governance, advisory, audit, consulting or a related field.
  • Experience with listed companies, corporate transactions, governance or strategic projects preferred.
  • Strong financial, commercial and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing ability.
  • High level of integrity, discretion and professional judgement.
  • Ability to operate independently and manage complex, sensitive assignments.

Ideal Candidate

This position is well suited to a former Big Four professional, corporate lawyer, finance executive, corporate adviser or investment professional who possesses a strong combination of legal, accounting and commercial expertise, together with the judgement and maturity to work closely with senior leadership and the Board.
