Working Hours: Mon-Fri office hours, 1 Sat half day every 4 weeks
Note: Need to be comfortable to handle human specimens

Salary: UP$3200

• Answering queries via email and calls on laboratory services and results in a timely manner.
• Perform order entry into the laboratory information system (LIS) correctly.
• Transcribe the gross examination of specimens into the LIS.
• Perform SNOMED coding for each case.
• Create addendum reports, upon request by the pathologist.
• Record dispatch of hardcopy reports, as needed.
• Record, sort and dispatch the outgoing mail to the mail room.
• Retrieve and distribute incoming mail from the mail room.
• Prepare and record all specimens and/or slides sent to other locations for external testing.
• Assist with contacting other institutions for loan slides and arrange for courier services.
• Assist with preparing reports and slides for multi-disciplinary tumour boards
• Ensure that the patient is charged correctly in the National Billing System (NBS) and make amendments as necessary.
• Perform billing reconciliation and check for dropped charges.
