The Regulatory Affairs executive ensures that all food products, formulations, and packaging comply with national and international food legislation. This role serves as the internal subject matter expert on food laws, nutrition labelling, and safety standards, working cross-functionally to support product development, market expansion, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Label & Artwork Review: Review and approve product labels, nutrition panels, ingredient lists, and packaging artwork to ensure strict compliance with local and export regulations.
- Formulation & Additive Compliance: Assess product formulations, ingredients, and food additives against statutory master lists and regional food safety standards.
- Regulatory Documentation: Compile, maintain, and manage regulatory databases, product registration dossiers, and export documentation.
- Risk Assessment & Advisory: Conduct risk assessments on new ingredients or products and translate complex regulatory changes into actionable business guidance.
- Stakeholder & Authority Engagement: Liaise with government agencies, regulatory bodies, and industry associations to support compliance audits, advocacy, and approvals.
- Cross-Functional Training: Educate internal teams—including R&D, marketing, and sales—on evolving regulatory requirements and compliance standards.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related life science discipline.
- Experience: 4–8 years of relevant experience in regulatory affairs, food compliance, quality assurance, or scientific affairs within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of food legislation (such as local food acts, labelling standards, and safety frameworks), food additive regulations, and claims substantiation.
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, cross-functional communication, detail-oriented documentation control, and proactive problem-solving
Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,800.00 per month
