SUPERVISOR (FOOD PREPARATION & KITCHEN OPERATIONS)

Job Description

We are seeking a hands-on Supervisor to coordinate daily kitchen operations and personally perform cooking, food preparation, packing and cleaning duties.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise daily kitchen activities, allocate tasks and monitor completion.

• Personally prepare ingredients, cook, portion and pack food.

• Check food quality, portion consistency and completion of orders.

• Monitor food hygiene, safe storage and workplace cleanliness.

• Receive ingredients, check stock and maintain proper stock rotation.

• Coordinate preparation schedules and resolve daily operational issues.

• Guide assigned staff on work procedures and report issues to management.

• Wash utensils, clean equipment and maintain kitchen work areas.

• Perform opening and closing duties.

Working Arrangements

• Rostered shifts, including weekends, public holidays and evening/night work.

• Working hours depend on scheduled kitchen operations.

• Rest days are rostered and may fall on weekdays.

• Regular standing, repetitive preparation tasks and work in a hot kitchen environment.

• Physical handling of ingredients and supplies, with appropriate equipment and assistance where necessary.

Requirements

• Relevant commercial kitchen or food preparation experience.

• Able to cook and perform preparation duties independently.

• Able to supervise assigned staff and organise daily tasks.

• Familiar with food hygiene and safe food handling.

• Available to work the stated shift arrangements.

• Reliable, organised and able to meet preparation deadlines.
