We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Head of Department – Haulage to lead and manage our haulage operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, effective manpower planning, cost control, compliance and continuous improvement of the haulage division.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop the haulage team to achieve operational and business objectives.
- Plan and coordinate daily haulage operations, manpower and resources to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for the haulage division and drive the team towards achieving performance targets.
- Monitor operational performance and prepare regular reports for management.
- Manage the division's budget, operating costs and cost-control initiatives to improve overall efficiency and profitability.
- Make timely operational decisions and resolve issues or service disruptions effectively.
- Work closely with other departments including Operations, Sales, Finance, Customer Service and HR to ensure smooth end-to-end operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, customer requirements, safety standards and relevant transport regulations.
- Maintain service quality and identify areas for improvement in haulage operations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to improve productivity, fleet utilisation, service quality and the overall performance of the haulage division.
- Provide leadership, guidance and coaching to the team while building a strong performance-driven culture.
Requirements
- Degree/Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Business Management or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in haulage, transportation or logistics, with proven experience in a managerial or HOD-level position.
- Strong knowledge of haulage and transport operations, fleet management and manpower planning.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Good understanding of KPI management, budgeting and cost control.
- Able to work closely with multiple departments and manage different stakeholders effectively.
- Strong communication, reporting and analytical skills.
- Able to work in a fast-paced operational environment and handle operational challenges independently.
- Candidates with strong experience in Johor haulage / port operations will have an added advantage.
Pay: RM2,700.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
