Responsibilities

Company Description Paper Monkey Theatre, inaugurated in April 2008, is a unique bilingual puppetry theatre that educates, enlightens, and entertains children and adults. The company advocates Asian values and culture, using the art of puppetry to inspire imagination, learning, and community. Its team comprises like-minded artists and collaborators dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences that highlight Asian culture and values. Paper Monkey Theatre works closely with international puppetry companies and puppeteers who share a passion for puppetry and cultural storytelling. Its productions have been featured across various media and platforms, reflecting a growing profile in the arts community.
Role Description The Assistant Manager Business Development is a full-time, hybrid role based in Singapore, with a mix of on-site work at the theatre and some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, including partnerships, sponsorships, and programme collaborations that support the theatre’s mission and revenue growth. Day-to-day tasks include researching potential partners, preparing proposals and presentations, coordinating outreach campaigns, and maintaining relationships with schools, community organizations, corporates, and arts bodies. The role also involves supporting marketing initiatives, tracking performance metrics, managing databases, and assisting in planning events and productions to enhance audience engagement. The Assistant Manager Business Development will work closely with artistic and operations teams to ensure business plans align with artistic objectives and community impact.

  • Relevant diploma or degree in business, marketing, arts management, communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Prior experience in the arts, non-profit, or education sectors in Singapore is beneficial.
