Job position: Teacher Aide (NFS Unit)

Salary range: SGD 2,000 - 2,600/month

Name of Authority: Bendemeer Secondary School

Contract Period: 1 January to 31 December 2027. Service is required in January to May, July to October, 1–18 and 25–30 June, and 1–19 November 2027.

Option period: 1 January to 31 December 2028. Service is required in January to May, July to October, 1–16 and 23–30 June, and 1–17 November 2028.

Working hours

Monday to Thursday, 7:30am to 4:00pm. Friday, 7:30am to 3:30pm.

No service on Saturdays, Sundays or gazetted public holidays.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience in a school kitchen or a similar working environment.

• GCE N-Level certification.

• Ability to operate ovens, cookers, blenders, steamers and other kitchen equipment safely.

• Confident use of Microsoft Word and Excel, and ability to email suppliers under the supervising teacher’s direction.

Job Scopes

1. Prepare and portion ingredients, replenish supplies and assist teachers and pupils during practical lessons, including use of appliances and immediate cleaning of spills.

2. Clean kitchen tables, sinks, cookers and floors, empty bins and maintain kitchen appliances and the washing machine.

3. Maintain food hygiene and safe storage. Remove spoiled or expired food and sanitise refrigerators.

4. Store sharp objects safely, account for utensils and equipment, and turn off taps, electrical points and gas supplies when not in use.

5. Replenish ingredients and dry goods, organise kitchen and storeroom equipment, update labels and posters, and assist with asset stocktaking.
