Responsibilities

Qualification

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree of any discipline preferences in Engineering or its equivalent.
  • Degree of any relevant disciplines with not less than 5-12 years relevant working experience in Oil & Gas Industry or Diploma of any disciplines with not less than 10-18 years relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry3–5 years’ experience in supply chain/procurement, supporting project and/or operations environments (e.g., energy, industrial, manufacturing, infrastructure, or similar sectors).
  • 1–2 years’ experience managing sourcing and purchase of assigned categories/packages (materials, equipment and/or services) from RFx through award and delivery.

Requirements

  • Exposure to large-scale and/or international projects is preferred, including working with global suppliers and multi-site stakeholders. (for Sr Buyer)
  • Good knowledge of common industrial products and procurement specifications (e.g., bulk materials, engineered items, spares, or services), including supplier capabilities and lead times.
  • Site/field experience (e.g., vendor inspection, commissioning/shutdown support, or working alongside operations) is an added advantage.
  • End-to-end sourcing and procurement expertise across pre-award to post-award activities (RFx, evaluation, award, expediting and close-out).
  • Commercial and contract management capability, including terms & conditions review, risk identification and negotiation of commercial positions.
  • Experienced in dealing with vessel chartering contract is an advantage
  • Sound technical understanding to interpret specifications/datasheets and support basic technical & commercial evaluations in collaboration with engineering/QA.
  • Strong vendor management and market intelligence: supplier sourcing, benchmarking, understanding of brand landscape and global supply base.
  • Planning and delivery focus: able to manage priorities, procurement schedules/lead times and resolve issues to meet project milestones.
  • Proficient in procurement systems and reporting (e.g., SAP) to manage requisitions/POs, track status and maintain audit-ready documentation.

Pay: Up to RM9,000.00 per month

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Kuala Lumpur: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Buyer: 5 years (Required)
  • Vessel Chartering: 3 years (Required)
