About us
We're a stealth-stage wealth fintech app on a mission to make financial participation simpler, more accessible and more rewarding for ordinary people. Our platform brings together financial products, account and wallet functionality, transactions and customer education, supported by an optional independent field sales network. We're now building our Kuala Lumpur global headquarters and hiring the founding team to run it.
The role
The General Manager is the hands-on operating leader who builds and runs a reliable, accountable, scalable headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. This is not an administrative role. It is an enterprise integration and execution role in a fast-moving startup, where a few systems are advanced, most are still being built, and gaps need closing without waiting for perfect conditions. You'll translate executive priorities into clear ownership, working processes and measurable outcomes across teams, vendors and locations, especially while founders and executives are travelling.
What you'll do
- Turn company priorities into operating plans with accountable owners, deadlines and measurable outcomes
- Keep a visible register of commitments, dependencies, open issues and decisions, and make sure handoffs are accepted and verified
- Set up practical daily, weekly and monthly operating rhythms and a clear operating scorecard
- Coordinate across financial-product operations, technology, onboarding, sales support, compliance, commissions, field administration and enablement
- Document, implement and improve SOPs, including controls for transactions, account issues, escalations, vendor incidents and reconciliations
- Maintain business continuity and incident-response processes
- Work with finance, legal and compliance owners so operations reflect approved requirements
- Help recruit, onboard and coach key operating staff, and spot where more staffing, automation or specialist capacity is justified
Your first 90 days
- Days 1–30: map operational ownership, identify the ten most important gaps, set up a daily issue-and-commitment review and escalation paths
- Days 31–60: make priority processes dependable, improve vendor and internal handoffs, clarify staffing needs
- Days 61–90: run a repeatable weekly management cadence, show measurable gains in execution, and present a six-month operations roadmap
What we're looking for
- Substantial experience running cross-functional operations in a growing, technology-enabled business
- A track record of building systems, procedures and accountability from incomplete starting conditions
- Experience with, or a real commitment to learning, an independent B2C field sales organization
- Strong judgment, communication, prioritization and follow-through
- Experience coordinating external vendors and internal technical teams
- Comfort working with international teams and executive stakeholders
- Able to work on-site in Kuala Lumpur
Strongly preferred
- Financial services, fintech, payments, digital assets or other regulated environments
- Consumer businesses with complex onboarding and transaction workflows
- Direct selling, affiliate networks or distributed sales organizations
- Experience managing growth, incidents, service quality and operational risk
How we hire
Finalists complete a short, practical scenario based on real work we need done. We value demonstrated capability over titles, and learning speed and execution over a perfect résumé. We're recruiting builders, not caretakers of an established bureaucracy.
