Position Summary
The RTE Executive is responsible for developing, testing, and improving Ready-to-Eat (RTE) food
products for Gigi Coffee. The role combines culinary creativity with product development, focusing on recipe
development, kitchen trials, food costing, product quality, and commercialisation. The position will work
closely with internal teams and suppliers to ensure products are innovative, consistent, cost-effective and
suitable for outlet operations.
Job Desriptions
- Assist in developing new food concepts, recipes, and product prototypes based on market trends and customer preferences.
- Conduct product testing, tasting, and evaluation to ensure product quality, taste, texture, appearance and consistency.
- Develop and maintain standardised recipes, product specifications, preparation methods, and cooking procedures.
- Work closely with the Marketing, Operations, QA/QC, Procurement and suppliers throughout the product development process.
- Ensure recipes are practical, cost-effective, and consistently prepared across outlets.
- Provide training and guidance to outlet teams on new recipes, preparation methods, and product standards when required.
- Monitor product quality after launch and recommend improvements where necessary.
- Assist in sourcing and evaluating ingredients, packaging, and suitable suppliers for new products.
- Prepare and maintain product specifications, recipes, costing, and development documents.
- Conduct trials and support the commercialisation and launch of new products at outlets.
- Monitor product performance and gather feedback from outlets and customers for further improvement.
- Ensure all product development activities comply with food safety, hygiene, quality, and company standards.
- Support other product innovation projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other related duties/ tasks as assigned by superior/ management.
Job Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Culinary Arts, Food Science, Food Technology, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience in R&D, product development, RTE, food manufacturing, central kitchen, or F&B.
- Strong hands-on experience in recipe development, food trials, menu development, and product improvement.
- Good knowledge of food ingredients, cooking techniques, food preparation, and product quality.
- Experience in food costing, recipe standardisation, portion control, and yield calculation.
- Knowledge of RTE product development, shelf-life, packaging, and food preservation is an advantage.
- Good understanding of food safety, hygiene, HACCP, GMP, and quality standards.
- Creative and passionate about food and product innovation.
- Strong sensory evaluation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Able to work effectively with cross-functional teams and suppliers.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Able to work in a fast-paced F&B environment.
- Willing to conduct product trials, outlet visits, supplier meetings, and training sessions when required.
- Experience working with F&B chains, central kitchens, or commercial food production will be an added advantage.
