Job Description

Responsibilities

This role resides under Marine Services (the Integrated Marine Services arm of MISC Group).


THE JOB

Attain and accomplish safe, efficient, and cost-effective operations in the offshore marine industry by providing quality marine expertise and ensuring continuous enforcement of the policies, procedures, and guidelines on proper control and utilization of the vessels by conducting screening, inspection, and audit on all vessels utilized by PETRONAS and inspection request by other clients.


  • Plan manage and conduct annual scheduling inspections of Offshore Support Vessel (OSV), Mobile Offshore Drilling Unit (MODU), and Barge to ensure compliance with safety, company, and regulatory requirements for PETRONAS and inspection requests by other clients.


  • Responsible for monitoring and following through on inspection requests and ensuring completion of the OVID report and observation closure are updated on a timely basis via the group e-mail and Vessel Inspection System 2.0 (VIS 2.0).


  • Advise and recommend corrective actions/solutions to Management and Client on any non-conformance on the inspection findings for mitigation.


  • Monitor, review, and update marine services manuals to ensure compliance with PETRONAS Technical Standard (PTS), ISO 9001:2015. Maintain and update database where all information on OSV, SBM, MODU, and Barge are captured and stored and ensure all information is accurate for reference.


  • Provision of marine services in tender evaluation on proposal submitted by consultants/contractors


  • Provision of quality marine expertise and consultancy to PETRONAS, other Profit Sharing Contractors, and other clients.


  • Multiskilling to support other departments such as OVMSA, shipyard assessment, ISPS, etc.


THE PERSON

  • Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 Master FG Vessel / Master of 3,000 GT or more Unlimited Trade Voyage, OR
  • Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 1 for Marine Engineer / Chief Engineer Officer of 3,000 KW or more Unlimited Trade Voyage, OR
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in command onboard an offshore vessel / meet the minimum requirement by OCIMF to be an OVID-accredited inspector.
