The role involves analyzing test results, identifying product defects and failure trends, conducting root cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure products meet established specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements.

In addition, the Test Engineer works closely with cross-functional teams, including Engineering, Quality, Production, Research & Development, and external suppliers, to resolve technical issues, support product development and launch activities, improve manufacturing processes, and ensure smooth production delivery. The position also ensures compliance with relevant industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal quality procedures.

Key ResponsibilitiesA. Product Testing & Performance Analysis

  • Conduct product testing and evaluation to assess product functionality, performance, reliability, and durability against established specifications and requirements.
  • Analyze test results, identify performance gaps, and investigate product failures or abnormalities.
  • Evaluate product test data and identify trends, recurring defects, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate test reports, technical documentation, and testing records.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Research & Development teams to recommend design improvements and enhance product performance.
  • Support the development, validation, and optimization of test methods, procedures, and testing equipment.
  • Ensure testing activities are conducted in accordance with approved procedures, technical specifications, and quality requirements.

B. Defect Analysis & Root Cause Investigation

  • Investigate product defects, test failures, and customer feedback to determine potential causes and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using suitable problem-solving methodologies, such as 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, and other applicable techniques.
  • Work closely with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address identified issues.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and verify that issues have been resolved to prevent recurrence.
  • Communicate test findings, failure analysis results, and improvement recommendations to the development and engineering teams.
  • Maintain proper documentation of defect analysis, investigation findings, corrective actions, and verification results.
  • Support failure analysis and troubleshooting activities for products that do not meet required specifications or performance standards.

C. Supplier & Vendor Coordination

  • Liaise with suppliers and vendors on technical issues, product specifications, component quality, and testing requirements.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to investigate component-related defects, material issues, and product performance concerns.
  • Follow up on supplier corrective actions and ensure identified quality issues are addressed within the required timeline.
  • Support supplier qualification, component evaluation, and validation activities where required.
  • Work with Procurement, Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve supplier-related issues that may affect product quality or production delivery.
  • Ensure relevant supplier documentation, test reports, and technical records are properly maintained.
  • Assist in evaluating alternative components, materials, or suppliers to improve product reliability, availability, and cost-effectiveness.

D. Product Launch & Continuous Improvement

  • Participate in new product introduction (NPI), product validation, and product launch activities to ensure readiness for production.
  • Support the development and execution of test plans, validation procedures, and product qualification activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify potential product and process risks before mass production.
  • Identify opportunities to improve testing efficiency, product reliability, quality performance, and overall production cost.
  • Recommend and implement continuous improvement initiatives to reduce defects, minimize product failures, and improve testing processes.
  • Support engineering change implementation and assess the impact of changes on product performance and testing requirements.
  • Monitor product performance and quality trends to identify areas requiring further investigation or improvement.
  • Assist in resolving technical issues during pilot runs, production ramp-up, and ongoing manufacturing operations.

E. Quality, Compliance & Documentation

  • Ensure all testing and validation activities comply with applicable industry standards, regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal quality procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and traceable test records, technical reports, validation results, and related documentation.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing relevant test data, technical records, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure testing equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and suitable for its intended use.
  • Identify and report non-conformities, testing deviations, and quality risks to the relevant departments.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and other relevant teams to ensure product compliance and consistent quality standards.
  • Perform other engineering, testing, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement tasks assigned by the Superior from time to time.
