Job Description

Responsibilities

At Raffles Girls’ School, we believe that people are at the heart of what we do. As an institution committed to nurturing bright young women of character and purpose, we recognize that a strong, dedicated staff community is essential in creating an environment where our students can flourish.

RGSynapse is the school’s signature computational literacy and design innovation programme, where making, design thinking, coding and responsible AI-assisted development come together in a curriculum built for some of Singapore's most curious and driven young minds.

We are seeking a dynamic Associate Teacher (RGSynapse) to deliver and design hands-on learning experiences across Year 1 to Year 3, guiding students through computational literacy, coding, responsible AI-assisted development, digital prototyping, physical making, design thinking and fabrication in a coherent and purposeful way.

From exploratory making in their first year through integrative application, to more advanced and differentiated project experiences as they grow, this role requires a professional who brings a strong foundation in one or more areas of computing, engineering, design or making, together with curiosity, an openness to grow and a genuine passion for working with young people, developing their confidence as creative creators and thoughtful problem-solvers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver RGSynapse, RGS’s Year 1 to Year 3 computational literacy and innovation programme, integrating computational thinking, coding, responsible AI-assisted development, digital prototyping, physical making and design thinking.
  • Mentor students to think critically about technology, including inspecting, debugging, reviewing and owning their solutions rather than accepting outputs at face value.
  • Facilitate hands-on, student-centred learning experiences including physical making and fabrication, so ideas do not just stay on screens but are real, functional and have an impact on others.
  • Contribute fresh ideas to the ongoing development of the RGSynapse curriculum, ensuring the evolving curriculum stays meaningful, engaging and relevant.

Requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computing, Engineering, Design, Product Design, Information Systems or a related field of study.
  • Prior teaching experience is appreciated but not required. However, experience working with and developing students aged 13 to 16 will be viewed favourably.
  • Excellent understanding of Design and Computational Thinking with real-life applications.
  • Proficient in at least one programming language or environment, physical computing platforms and generative AI tools.
  • Hands-on experience in AI, AI-assisted development, makerspace or digital fabrication environment would be advantageous.
  • Coachable, collaborative, and ready to grow in a school with a strong culture of learning as technologies and curriculum evolve.
  • Fresh graduates or mid-career professionals with strong domain knowledge (eg. computing, engineering, design, making or a related field) are welcome to apply.

Be part of the dynamic creative and innovative RGS teaching & learning experience. At the same time, build a meaningful and rewarding career with us.

We offer a competitive and attractive salary package and benefits commensurate with experience.
