Job Overview:

Responsible for managing and leading daily injection moulding production activities to achieve production targets, product quality, and operational efficiency. Oversee machine operations, manpower allocation, production planning, process stability, and equipment maintenance coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

• Plan, coordinate, and monitor daily injection moulding production activities to meet customer orders and delivery schedules.
• Prepare production plans, machine loading schedules, and manpower allocation based on customer demand, machine capacity, and available resources.
• Monitor daily production output, cycle time, machine utilization, downtime, scrap rate, and overall production performance.
• Ensure production targets are achieved while maintaining product quality, process stability, and efficient resource utilization.
• Coordinate with QA, IQC, and other relevant functions to resolve production issues and minimize quality defects and production interruptions.
• Monitor raw material consumption, work-in-progress (WIP), finished goods, and production material availability.
• Prepare and maintain daily production reports, downtime records, rejection reports, and monthly production performance summaries.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement corrective actions to improve productivity, reduce waste, and control manufacturing costs.
• Forecast production capacity and identify potential constraints involving machine availability, moulds, materials, manpower, and delivery requirements.
• Ensure production activities comply with approved work instructions, quality requirements, and established operating procedures.

Injection Moulding Machine Operations:

• Oversee injection moulding machine operations, including machine preparation, mould installation and removal, machine parameter setting, and production start-up.
• Provide hands-on technical support to technicians in machine setup, mould changeover, process adjustment, and troubleshooting.
• Monitor and optimize injection moulding parameters, including injection pressure, temperature, injection speed, holding pressure, cooling time, and cycle time, as applicable to each mould and material.
• Troubleshoot moulding defects such as short shots, flash, sink marks, warpage, burn marks, and dimensional abnormalities, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Conduct trial runs and validate process conditions following mould changes, machine adjustments, material changes, or other relevant process modifications.
• Ensure machine settings and process parameters are properly documented, standardized, and maintained for repeatable production.
• Monitor mould and machine performance, identify recurring technical issues, and coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs with the relevant personnel.
• Lead investigations into machine breakdowns, mould-related problems, and process abnormalities to minimize downtime and prevent recurrence.
• Ensure proper handling, installation, storage, and maintenance coordination of moulds, tooling, jigs, and related production equipment.
• Work closely with QA and relevant technical personnel to establish stable production conditions before mass production and after significant process changes.

Process Improvement:

• Participate in new mould testing, mould trials, and production validation to ensure process stability and readiness for mass production.
• Collaborate with QA and relevant technical personnel to investigate defects, improve process capability, and reduce rejection rates.
• Review and improve production workflows, machine layouts, material handling, and changeover procedures to enhance operational efficiency.
• Develop, revise, and implement SOPs and work instructions for machine operation, mould changeover, process parameter control, and production activities.
• Evaluate opportunities to reduce cycle time, material wastage, machine downtime, and unnecessary production costs without compromising product quality.
• Support new product introduction and engineering changes by coordinating production trials, process adjustments, and production readiness activities.
• Maintain records of process trials, machine settings, production abnormalities, and improvement initiatives for traceability and future reference.

Equipment Maintenance Safety:

• Coordinate preventive maintenance schedules for injection moulding machines and related production equipment to maintain operational reliability.
• Monitor machine conditions and ensure abnormalities, breakdowns, and maintenance requirements are promptly reported and addressed.
• Coordinate with relevant personnel or external service providers for machine servicing, repairs, and technical support when required.
• Ensure technicians and operators follow established safety procedures when operating machinery, changing moulds, performing adjustments, and handling equipment.
• Ensure machine guards, safety interlocks, emergency stops, and other relevant safety devices are maintained and used appropriately.
• Promote workplace safety, housekeeping, and 6S practices within the production area.
• Support risk assessments, safety inspections, and corrective actions relating to production machinery and manufacturing processes.

Requirements:

Education:

• Holds a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.

Experience:

• At least 5 years of experience in injection moulding production management and hands-on experience in machine setup, process troubleshooting, and technician supervision.

Language:

• Basic English & Bahasa Malaysia are required.
• Mandarin or Bahasa Japanese proficiency is a plus.

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM8,000.00 per month
