About the Role

We are looking for a driven, entrepreneurial Business Development professional to work closely with our leadership team on scaling our AI solutions across multiple merchant segments in Singapore. Our product is still relatively new to the market. We need someone with a strong hunter mentality who will go beyond traditional sales activities and help build the business from the ground up. This is not just about selling a product. It is about creating the market and the opportunities for it.

Responsibilities

• Business Development & Merchant Acquisition
• Find, approach and win new merchants across multiple segments in Singapore.
• Open new markets and create opportunities on your own, from prospecting through to closing.
• Build and manage a structured pipeline, from identification and outreach through qualification, proposal and close.
• Work from target lists, but also bring your own network and instincts on where to hunt.

• Partnerships & Relationship Building
• Build long-term relationships with merchants, partners and other players in the ecosystem.
• Network actively through industry events, communities and partner channels to raise brand awareness and generate leads.

• Solution Positioning & Deal Execution
• Identify merchant pain points and position our AI solutions in commercial terms that show clear business value.
• Run deals end to end: pitch, commercial negotiation, internal alignment and onboarding handoff.
• Work closely with product and operations so merchant onboarding goes smoothly and merchant feedback reaches the right people.

• Market Intelligence
• Share insights from each merchant segment (pricing sensitivity, integration requirements, decision-maker profiles) to help shape our go-to-market strategy.
• Help build and improve the sales playbook as we learn what works.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of B2B sales or business development experience. Experience selling AI, SaaS, fintech or technology solutions is preferred.
• A track record of closing deals on your own, not just supporting them.
• Experience selling to merchants, SMEs or digital businesses in Singapore.
• Comfortable with technical conversations. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be able to explain how a technology product fits into a merchant's operations.
• Clear, credible communicator who can engage founders and decision-makers.
• Mandarin proficiency is a plus.
