Junior Trader – Commodity

• Location: Central
• Working hours: Mon – Fri;8.30am – 5.30pm
• Salary: S$3,800 to S$4,500
• Work commencement date: Jan2027

Role Overview:

The Junior Trader will support the company's international trading activities by assisting in market research, sourcing suppliers, developing customer relationships, and executing trading transactions.

The role involves monitoring market trends, coordinating with overseas business partners, and identifying new trading opportunities to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support senior traders in daily trading activities including trade execution and transaction follow-ups.
• Conduct market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities, market trends, and developments across materials, food and agriculture, and emerging growth sectors.
• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, buyers, business partners, and new markets to expand the company's international trading business.
• Assist in maintaining relationships with overseas clients and business partners, handling inquiries and coordinating trading matters.
• Prepare market research reports, business proposals, and presentations to support trading strategies and management decisions.
• Required to visit ports and handle onsite commodity goods occasionally
• Liaise with internal teams to coordinate trade documentation, shipments, and operational matters to ensure smooth transaction execution.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field.
• Entry level will be considered as training is provided.
• Strong analytical and research skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Previous experience or internships in business development, market research, or a related field is a plus.
