Legal Counsel (Fintech - Payments | 3-6 Years PQE)

We are representing a global Fintech organisation looking to appoint a Legal Counsel to support its growing operations. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and various business functions, providing practical legal guidance while contributing to the organisation's continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Commercial Contracts: Draft, review and negotiate a variety of business agreements, ensuring appropriate protection of commercial interests.
• Business Advisory: Provide timely and practical legal guidance to internal stakeholders on day-to-day business matters.
• Legal Risk: Identify potential legal and contractual risks, recommending commercially viable solutions.
• Corporate Matters: Support general corporate activities, internal governance and legal documentation.
• Business Partnerships: Advise on contractual arrangements and legal considerations relating to key business relationships.
• Internal Collaboration: Work closely with management and cross-functional teams to support operational and strategic priorities.
• Legal Processes: Develop and maintain standard agreements, internal guidelines and documentation practices.
• External Advisers: Liaise with external legal professionals on matters requiring specialist expertise.

Key Requirements

• Relevant post-qualification legal experience, gained in private practice, in-house or a combination of both.
• Recognised law degree, with admission to practise in a relevant jurisdiction preferred.
• Strong commercial contracting experience, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating business agreements.
• Background in financial services, technology or other commercially driven industries would be advantageous.
• Exposure to corporate, regulatory or cross-border legal matters is beneficial.
• Sound legal judgement with the ability to translate complex issues into practical business advice.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders at different levels.
• Self-motivated, responsive and able to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Comfortable working in a collaborative, fast-paced and evolving business environment.
