Job Description

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CA(M), ACCA, CPA or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be an MIA member or eligible to apply for MIA membership.
  • At least 15 years of progressive finance experience, including five years in a senior leadership position.
  • Experience overseeing multiple finance functions within a sizeable, complex or publicly listed group.
  • Strong knowledge of Group consolidation, MFRS, IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and the Companies Act.
  • Broad experience in treasury, taxation, insurance, financial controls, audit and enterprise risk management.
  • Experience leading Finance Shared Services or a Finance Centre of Excellence.
  • Exposure to mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, fundraising, financial modelling or corporate exercises.
  • Strong leadership, commercial judgement and stakeholder-management capabilities.
  • Able to communicate confidently with the Board, senior management, auditors, bankers and regulators.
  • High standards of integrity, governance and confidentiality.
  • Strong command of English & Mandarin.
  • Willing to travel overseas when required.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are hiring an experienced Vice President of Finance to serve as the principal deputy to the Chief Financial Officer and provide leadership across the Group’s finance functions.

The successful candidate will oversee Group financial reporting and consolidation, treasury, taxation, insurance, shared services, finance transformation, corporate exercises and finance-related risk management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Chief Financial Officer’s second-in-command and provide leadership continuity for the Finance Department.
  • Lead monthly, quarterly and annual Group financial reporting and consolidation.
  • Oversee Bursa Malaysia announcements, annual reports and regulatory financial filings.
  • Ensure compliance with MFRS, IFRS, Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and the Companies Act.
  • Manage Group cash flow, liquidity, funding, banking facilities, foreign exchange exposure and treasury controls.
  • Oversee corporate tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, transfer pricing and tax planning.
  • Manage the Group’s insurance programme, renewals, claims and insurer relationships.
  • Provide strategic oversight of Finance Shared Services, including accounts payable and accounts receivable.
  • Lead finance transformation, systems implementation, automation, analytics and process improvement.
  • Support mergers and acquisitions, restructuring, fundraising, valuation, due diligence and other corporate exercises.
  • Strengthen financial controls, audit readiness, governance and enterprise risk management.
  • Manage relationships with auditors, bankers, regulators, tax authorities and professional advisers.
  • Lead, coach and develop finance leaders and geographically dispersed teams.
  • Represent the Chief Financial Officer at management, Board or committee meetings when required.
