ENGINEERING ASSISTANT (TUNNEL MAINTENANCE)



About the Position

We are looking for a proactive Engineering Assistant to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of Tunnel SCADA/RTU systems. You will assist in preventive and corrective maintenance, respond to fault calls, and ensure the reliable operation of tunnel control and communication systems. The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, a willingness to learn, and flexibility to support after-hours and emergency maintenance when required.



Key Responsibilities

·         Assist in preventive and corrective maintenance of Tunnel SCADA/RTU systems.

·         Perform equipment inspections, fault diagnosis, and rectification.

·         Support the installation, replacement, configuration, testing, and commissioning of RTUs, PLCs, and communication equipment.

·         Maintain maintenance records, test reports, and technical documentation.

·         Support emergency maintenance activities while complying with safety and permit-to-work requirements.



Qualifications

·         ITE, Diploma, or equivalent in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.

·         Relevant experience in electrical, automation, SCADA, control systems, or equipment maintenance.

·         Candidates with relevant technician experience who are looking to progress into an Engineering Assistant role are encouraged to apply.

·         Experience in tunnel, transport, utilities or infrastructure projects will be an advantage.



Technical Skills

·         Basic knowledge of SCADA, RTU, PLC, and industrial control systems.

·         Basic understanding of Modbus, Ethernet, and TCP/IP communications.

·         Able to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and network drawings.

·         Familiar with electrical testing and troubleshooting tools.
