Responsibilities
About the role
We are hiring an Operational Buyer on a 1-year contract to support indirect procurement for a global life sciences manufacturing company in Tuas. You will manage indirect goods, services and CAPEX purchasing for several sites. Your job is to make sure spend goes through approved buying channels, suppliers deliver on time, and procurement processes run smoothly in a GMP-regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review and validate purchase requisitions for indirect products, services and CAPEX across several sites
Manage competitive bid processes (3-bids) and run RFx events in line with procurement policy
Assign contracts and purchase orders to preferred suppliers where possible
Make sure all indirect third-party spend goes through the right buying channel and follows internal review procedures
Promote the use of e-catalogues (SAP Ariba) and other approved buying channels that increase automation
Monitor supplier performance and escalate issues to strategic buyers or category managers
Manage non-conformances, rejections and returns with suppliers, QA and QC
Work with Accounts Payable and the P2P team to resolve invoice and GRIR queries and respond to AP enquiries
Make sure goods and services are delivered on time
Uphold data integrity principles and help improve data integrity processes
Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain or a related field
At least 3 years of experience in operational or indirect procurement, including CAPEX purchasing
Hands-on experience with SAP ERP (MM) and SAP Ariba in a purchasing role (Ariba experience strongly preferred)
Experience running 3-bid processes and purchasing through SAP and/or Ariba
Experience managing suppliers and resolving delivery, quality or invoice issues
Experience in a GMP, pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment is an advantage
Customer service mindset, able to manage several priorities at once
Good command of English and proficient in Microsoft Office
