Job Summary
The Accounting Lecturer is responsible for delivering quality teaching and learning activities in accounting-related subjects. The lecturer is expected to prepare lesson plans, conduct lectures, assess students’ academic performance, guide students in coursework and projects, and support the overall academic development of the programme.
The role requires strong knowledge in financial accounting, management accounting, taxation, auditing, accounting information systems, and relevant accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Teaching and Learning
- Conduct lectures, tutorials, workshops, and practical classes for accounting subjects.
- Prepare lesson plans, lecture notes, slides, tutorials, assignments, and learning materials.
- Deliver lessons according to the approved syllabus, academic calendar, and timetable.
- Apply effective teaching methods to ensure students understand accounting concepts and practices.
- Use real accounting examples, case studies, and practical exercises to enhance student learning.
2. Student Assessment
- Prepare quizzes, tests, assignments, projects, final examinations, and practical assessments.
- Mark and grade assessments fairly and within the required timeline.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to improve their academic performance.
- Maintain proper records of students’ attendance, marks, coursework, and examination results.
3. Academic Support and Student Guidance
- Guide students on assignments, accounting exercises, projects, and academic matters.
- Monitor student progress and identify students who require additional support.
- Provide consultation sessions to assist students with difficult accounting topics.
- Encourage professional ethics, accuracy, responsibility, and discipline in accounting practices.
4. Curriculum and Programme Development
- Assist in reviewing and improving accounting course content, syllabus, and teaching materials.
- Ensure teaching content is aligned with current accounting standards, industry practices, and academic requirements.
- Participate in programme reviews, academic meetings, moderation, and quality assurance activities.
- Support the development of new academic materials and assessment methods.
5. Administrative Duties
- Prepare academic reports, student progress reports, course files, and related documentation.
- Attend departmental meetings, briefings, training, and institutional activities.
- Assist in student orientation, academic events, workshops, and programme-related activities.
- Ensure all academic documentation is properly completed and submitted on time.
6. Professional Development
- Stay updated with current developments in accounting standards, taxation, auditing, and financial reporting.
- Participate in training, seminars, workshops, research, or publication activities where required.
- Maintain professional conduct and uphold the academic standards of the institution.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
