Lead a Growing AP Function in a Regional Shared Services Centre



Hays is partnering with a well-established multinational organisation seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Team Lead to lead a high-performing AP team within a rapidly expanding Shared Services operation. This replacement hire offers the opportunity to manage a sizeable team, drive process improvements, and play a key role in ongoing system transitions and regional migration projects.



The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance leadership team, you will oversee end-to-end Accounts Payable operations while leading a team of finance professionals in a fast-paced SSC environment. You will be responsible for ensuring operational excellence, maintaining strong controls, supporting business growth, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.



Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of Accounts Payable professionals within a growing Shared Services Centre
• Oversee end-to-end AP operations including invoice processing, payments, supplier management, and employee expense claims
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, and risk management policies
• Support regional transition projects, country migrations, and process standardisation initiatives
• Drive process improvements, automation opportunities, and operational efficiencies
• Manage stakeholder relationships across finance, procurement, and business functions
• Monitor service delivery, KPIs, and team performance to ensure operational excellence
  

To Be Successful, You Will Have

• Strong end-to-end Accounts Payable experience with comprehensive operational knowledge
• Minimum 5 years of experience within a Shared Services Centre (SSC/FSSC) environment
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing finance teams
• Hands-on exposure across the full AP cycle rather than a specialised AP function
• Experience handling invoice processing, freight invoices, staff claims, payment controls, and AP risk management
• Exposure to Concur or similar expense management systems
• SAP experience is highly preferred, with SAP S/4HANA exposure viewed favourably
• Strong stakeholder management and change management capabilities
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
