WTT PR/MEDIA SPECIALIST

The WTT PR/Media Specialist will build strong international media relationships, manage media operations at WTT events, and drive earned media coverage across key markets. The role will coordinate media enquiries and interviews, support spokespeople and players, and develop compelling storylines to strengthen WTT’s global visibility. It will also track media coverage and sentiment and support crisis communications to protect WTT’s reputation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

MEDIA RELATIONS

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with international media, journalists, broadcasters, and KOLs.

  • Maintain and grow a media database across key markets.

  • Serve as a primary media contact, providing daily communication and services to the media, including day-to-day enquiries, interview requests, and story pitches.

  • Distribute press releases, media kits, and official statements.

  • Brief and support spokespeople, players, and officials before and during media appearances.

MEDIA OPERATIONS AT EVENTS

  • Develop and deliver media plans for WTT events.

  • Manage media operations, including media accreditation and services, and on-site management and coordination of the media centre, media tribune, mixed zone, press conferences, and interview room.

  • Support players' and officials' media obligations.

GROWING EARNED MEDIA COVERAGE

  • Proactively pitch storylines for coverage on and beyond the sports pages.

  • Amplify coverage across WTT's owned platforms and social channels to extend reach.

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow coverage across broadcast territories and media outlets.

  • Prepare media clippings and PR reports; track coverage, reach, AVE, etc.

  • Monitor social and media sentiment; support crisis management.

REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIALS:
  • Diploma or Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.

  • 3–5 years of experience in media relations and/or media operations.

  • Strong communication, coordination, and execution skills.

  • Proven ability to build and maintain effective media relationships.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and any one of these languages (Mandarin, Japanese, French).

  • Ability to work across time zones and support a global event calendar.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

DESIRABLES:
  • Proficiency in design and video editing tools, such as Photoshop and video editing software.
