Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on HR Manager to oversee the full spectrum of Human

Resources functions for a growing retail and lifestyle business. The successful candidate will play a

key role in strengthening HR processes, supporting business growth, and building a positive and high performing workplace culture.

This role is ideal for an HR professional who is practical, people-oriented, commercially aware and

comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to balance strategic HR initiatives

with daily operational requirements.


Key Responsibilities

HR Strategy & Business Partnership

• Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's business

objectives.

• Partner with management and department heads on workforce planning, organisational

development and people-related matters.

• Provide HR advice and recommendations on employee relations, performance management

and employment practices.

• Support organisational growth, restructuring and other business transformation initiatives.


Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning

• Oversee end-to-end recruitment activities across corporate, retail and operational functions.

• Work closely with hiring managers to understand manpower requirements and develop effective recruitment strategies.

• Manage recruitment channels, candidate pipelines and employer branding initiatives.

• Develop workforce plans to support business expansion and operational requirements.


Performance Management

• Manage and improve the company's performance management framework.

• Support managers in setting KPIs, conducting performance reviews and managing underperformance.

• Advise on probation, confirmation, promotion, transfers and employee development matters.

• Identify opportunities to improve employee productivity and engagement.


Employee Relations

• Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and workplace conflicts professionally and

fairly.

• Ensure HR practices are aligned with Malaysian employment laws and regulations.

• Manage employee investigations, counselling and disciplinary processes where required.

• Promote a positive and respectful workplace culture.


Compensation & Benefits

• Oversee payroll coordination, employee benefits, leave administration and HR-related claims.

• Conduct salary benchmarking and provide recommendations on compensation structures.

• Review HR policies, benefits and practices to ensure competitiveness and internal equity.


Learning & Development

• Identify training and development needs across different functions.

• Develop and coordinate training programmes to enhance employee capabilities.

• Support career development and succession planning initiatives.


HR Operations & Compliance

• Ensure smooth day-to-day HR operations and maintain accurate employee records.

• Develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures and employee handbooks.

• Ensure compliance with the Employment Act 1955 and other applicable Malaysian employment regulations.

• Maintain proper HR documentation and reporting.

• Monitor HR metrics and provide regular reports to management.


Employee Engagement & Culture

• Develop initiatives to improve employee engagement, retention and workplace culture.

• Organise employee engagement activities and internal communications.

• Support initiatives that strengthen teamwork, employee morale and organisational values.


Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or a related

field.

• Minimum 5–8 years of relevant HR experience, preferably with managerial or supervisory

exposure.

• Experience in retail, fashion, lifestyle, FMCG, hospitality or other fast-paced consumer-facing industries would be advantageous.

• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment practices and HR regulations.

• Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management and HR operations.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work with employees at all levels.

• Commercially minded with good business acumen.

• Hands-on, proactive and able to work independently.

• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.

• Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin would be an added advantage.
