Rhino Partners Hiring! Full Time Senior Full Stack Engineer (Node.js - TypeScript - SingPass Integration) (1 Year Contract) in - Ricebowl

We are looking for an experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our team in developing and enhancing a large-scale digital platform supporting volunteer management and operational workflows.

You will play a key role in designing, developing and delivering secure, scalable and high-performance web applications, working across frontend, backend, database and cloud environments.

This is a hands-on engineering role where you will be expected to actively contribute code, drive technical implementation and take ownership of complex features from design through to production deployment.

You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers and stakeholders to deliver reliable, user-centric digital solutions.

Full Stack Application Development

• Design, develop, test, deploy and maintain scalable full-stack web applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build responsive and reusable frontend components using modern frameworks such as React and Next.js.
• Develop mobile-responsive applications and Progressive Web App (PWA) capabilities.
• Design and implement RESTful APIs, backend services and application integrations.
• Contribute actively to hands-on coding, debugging, code reviews and technical problem-solving.

System Architecture & Technical Delivery

• Lead the technical design and implementation of complex application features and components.
• Make architectural and technical decisions to ensure application scalability, maintainability, performance and security.
• Design and optimise database structures, queries and data access patterns using relational and/or NoSQL databases.
• Implement secure authentication, authorisation, Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and audit logging.
• Ensure compliance with relevant security and data protection requirements, including PDPA.

Platform Features & Integrations

• Develop and integrate authentication and identity services, including Singpass, MyInfo and Corppass.
• Implement email and SMS notification services using platforms such as AWS SES, SNS or Twilio.
• Develop scheduling, calendar and availability management functionalities.
• Build attendance tracking capabilities, including QR code-based check-in and check-out.
• Develop dashboards, reporting features and data export functionalities, including PDF and Excel formats.

Cloud, DevOps & Engineering Excellence

• Develop, deploy and maintain applications in cloud environments such as AWS.
• Work with cloud services including EC2, Lambda, RDS or equivalent technologies.
• Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines, containerisation and infrastructure automation.
• Support application monitoring, observability, troubleshooting and production issue resolution.
• Champion engineering best practices, including automated testing, code quality, security and performance optimisation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers while remaining actively involved in development.

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related discipline.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant software engineering experience, with substantial hands-on full-stack development experience.
• Recent hands-on development experience with Node.js and TypeScript is mandatory.
• Strong proficiency in modern frontend frameworks such as React and/or Next.js.
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL or DynamoDB.
• Experience implementing authentication, authorisation, RBAC and application security controls.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, including application deployment and infrastructure management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices, testing, debugging and production support.
• Proven track record of delivering production-grade applications.
• Ability to independently lead technical implementation while remaining actively involved in coding.

• Experience integrating Singpass, MyInfo or Corppass.
• Experience developing scheduling, attendance management, notification or reporting systems.
• Experience with mobile-responsive applications and Progressive Web Apps (PWA).
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Prior experience developing citizen-facing government digital services.
