PURCHASING OFFICER

JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for a Purchasing Officer to manage purchasing activities and ensure materials are sourced at the right price, quality and delivery time. You will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to support smooth production operations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Management or related field
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in Purchasing/Procurement, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Good command of English, Bahasa Malaysia and Mandarin
• Good negotiation, communication and supplier management skills
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
• Willing to work in an office and plant environment

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle purchasing of raw materials, packaging materials, equipment and services
• Source, evaluate and communicate with new and existing suppliers
• Request and compare quotations, specifications and other required documents
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) based on approved requests
• Monitor supplier performance, pricing, quality and delivery
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery
• Coordinate with Production, Planning, Quality & Food Safety and Finance departments
• Maintain purchasing records and update information in the system
• Support supplier evaluation and approved supplier documentation
• Monitor stock levels and assist with monthly stock take
• Ensure required Halal, quality and food safety documentation is valid and up to date
• Assist with import documentation and SST exemption matters when required
• Perform other duties as assigned by the superior
