What You Will Do:

• Lead and build the Wonder’s Malaysia office from the ground up (0-to-1), owning end-to-end business operations, growth and performance.
• Develop and execute the Malaysia business strategy, including go-to-market plans, business development and revenue growth.
• Oversee the local budget, resources and operational performance to support sustainable business growth.
• Serve as the local director of Wonder’s Malaysia entity, ensuring strong business, corporate and governance oversight.
• Working closely with the International Expansion team including across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Product, Operations to ensure smooth execution of establishing local business activities.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, business partners, financial institutions, regulators and other stakeholders.
• Identify and develop strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities in the Malaysia market.
• Ensure the local business operates in accordance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and Wonder’s internal policies.
• Recruit, lead, and develop the Malaysia team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration and high performance.
• Represent Wonder in relevant business, industry and stakeholder engagements in Malaysia.
• Drive continuous improvement across business processes and operations, and support other strategic initiatives as required.

What We Are Looking For:

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience, with experience in a senior management, general management, country management or business leadership role.
• Experience in fintech, payments, financial services or technology is highly preferred.
• Huge Plus: Founder or early-employee experience in a startup. We value people who have built things from the ground up.
• Strong understanding of the Malaysian business environment, with knowledge of local regulatory, corporate and governance requirements.
• Experience managing or overseeing a local entity and/or serving as a company director is an advantage.
• Proven track record in business development, strategic partnerships and driving business growth.
• Strong commercial acumen, leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to make sound business decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with regional and global teams.
• High level of integrity, accountability and professional judgment, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in English and Mandarin is required; Bahasa Malaysia is an advantage.
