Requirements

• Proven experience as a Seamstress or in garment alteration.

• Good knowledge of different fabrics and sewing techniques.

• Able to operate different types of sewing machines safely.

• Good hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.

• Able to work efficiently under time constraints.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Responsible, detail-oriented, and willing to learn.

Job Responsibilities

• Measure customers accurately to ensure proper garment fitting.

• Perform garment alterations and repairs, including hemming, mending, shortening, lengthening, taking in and letting out seams.

• Fit garments on customers and determine the required alterations.

• Construct and alter garments according to customers’ requirements and preferences.

• Operate and maintain sewing machines and other sewing equipment.

• Label customers’ garments and record alteration requirements accurately.

• Communicate with customers to understand their needs and preferences.

• Use irons and pressing equipment to ensure garments are properly finished.

• Provide professional and friendly customer service.
