Job Description

Responsibilities

Provisionally Registered Pharmacist (PRP)

Batu Pahat, Johor | Bandar Saujana Putra (near MAHSA), Selangor | Kuantan, Pahang

Who We Are

FARMASI BIRUNI is an independent community pharmacy network with outlets in Batu Pahat, Bandar Saujana Putra (BSP), and Kuantan. We’re small enough that your work gets noticed, and growing fast enough for you to gain real exposure.

What Makes This Role Different

Most PRP roles stop at dispensing. Here, you’ll learn the end-to-end operations of a community pharmacy: patient care, inventory management, retail sales, and team guidance. You’ll work closely under a recognized Preceptor, with direct involvement in daily operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Patient Care & Dispensing

  • Understand patient needs, offering sound advice on medication, nutrition, and lifestyle.
  • Perform basic health screenings and explain medication regimens clearly.
  • Screen and dispense prescriptions accurately under Preceptor supervision.
  • Recommend suitable health supplements with honesty and patient care in mind.
  • Maintain the Poison Register accurately in compliance with KKM regulations.

2. Inventory & Stock Management

  • Ensure physical stock matches system inventory counts.
  • Monitor fast-moving items and liaise with purchasing before stockout occur.
  • Track expiry dates and manage slow-moving stock proactively.
  • Receive stock against Purchase Orders (PO) and ensure proper storage.

3. Outlet Growth & Team Engagement

  • Support the outlet in achieving monthly sales and margin targets.
  • Brief the team on focus products and active promotions.
  • Guide and onboard junior staff/assistants.
  • Cover shifts and support overall outlet operations as needed.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Pharmacy recognized by the Pharmacy Board of Malaysia (eligible for PRP training).
  • Target-driven, organized, and proactive.
  • Able to work independently while contributing to a supportive team culture.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (Mandarin fluency is an added advantage).
  • Willing to work on shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

Note: Still waiting for your official hospital placement? You are welcome to join us as a Pharmacist Assistant in the meantime!

What You’ll Gain

Hands-on experience running a retail pharmacy business. If your goal is to become a fully registered pharmacist (FRP) who understands both clinical advice and business metrics, this is the place for you.
